What is Botox?

BOTOX Cosmetic is a prescription medicine that is injected into muscles and used to temporarily improve the look of crow’s feet, forehead lines, and your “elevens” in between your eyebrows. Botox can be used as corrective and preventive measures for moderate to severe fine lines and wrinkles.

How does it work?

BOTOX Cosmetic targets one of the underlying causes of frown lines and crow’s feet—the repeated muscle contractions from frowning and squinting over the years. One of our specialists will inject these muscles with BOTOX® Cosmetic to temporarily reduce muscle activity. You will begin to notice a visible smoothing of your crow’s feet lines and frown lines between your brows.

Does it hurt?

Some patients report that being injected with BOTOX Cosmetic feels like a pinch. Numbing cream is not necessary for this treatment because the needle is so small.

When will I see results?

On average, patients begin to see their full results in 7 to 10 days. The results may last anywhere from 3 months to 4 months.

Numerous clinical studies have demonstrated the safety and effectiveness of Kybella.  The injections are formulated using deoxycholic acid, a chemical which is naturally produced by the body to help dissolve and absorb excess fat.  Not for pregnant or breastfeeding women, those who have difficulty swallowing or if you are planning on having surgery in the treatment area.  Most common side effects are swelling, bruising, redness, numbness, and small area of firmness in the treatment area.

PRP Stem Cell Hair Restoration

What is PRP?
PRP, or Platelet Rich Plasma therapy, is the latest technology in hair restoration/regrowth. Along with other medical hair loss therapies, it is one of few treatments that can offer significant hair regrowth and prevention of further hair loss in a matter of months rather than years. PRP uses one’s own body’s growth factors, activated platelets, and biorestorative molecules, derived from blood plasma, to stimulate hair regrowth.

How is it done?
You will be seen in consultation by your physician dermatologist, who has years of training in diagnosis and treatment of hair loss disorders. It will be determined if you would be a candidate for PRP. Blood will be drawn in the clinic which is immediately spun down with a specialized centrifuge and the platelet-rich plasma is extracted. You will receive numbing medication by a series of injections in your scalp and your dermatologist will then inject the PRP directly into the areas of your scalp where it is most needed. At a follow-up appointment in 3-4 months, your dermatologist will examine you to determine how much new hair regrowth is present. Many patients opt for a “booster” treatment at that time based on severity of the original hair loss and response to the first treatment.

Are there any side effects?
Discomfort is minimal during and after the procedure, and there is no real downtime following the treatment. Most patients can resume normal activities immediately.

How long does it last?
Results can vary with patients but usually can last up to one year. After your initial treatment, you will be recommended to have a booster injection in 3 months. Then once yearly PRP maintenance treatments are usually recommended. PRP, though it can be very effective, is not a cure for hair loss.

PRP Skin Restoration

What is PRP?
PRP, or Platelet Rich Plasma therapy, is the latest technology in skin recovery and anti-aging. Along with other skin restoration therapies, it is one of few treatments that can offer significant collagen production and give skin a fuller, tighter and younger look while rejuvenating your skin and improving skin texture, sagging and wrinkles. PRP uses one’s own body’s growth factors, activated platelets, and biorestorative molecules, derived from blood plasma that is then injected into treatment areas.

How is it done?
The PRP Skin Restoration takes approximately 30 to 40 minutes to perform. Before the procedure is performed, blood will be drawn from the patient, then separate the platelets from the blood using a centrifuge. The platelets and various natural fillers are then injected into the areas the patient has requested, such as the cheeks, mouth lines, under the eyes, etc. As for recovery time, your face may be a little red afterwards, but it will go away in a few hours.

Are there any side effects?

Discomfort is minimal during and after the procedure, and there is no real downtime following the treatment. Most patients can resume normal activities immediately.

How long does it last?
The effects of the procedure improve for 2 to 3 months after your treatment and can last for at least 1 to 2 years, however results can vary.
